Bangsrai Cottage

If you are looking for somewhere close to nature and on the River then this place has it! The cottage I had was right on the river and I was able to sit outside and enjoy the sunset watching local long tail boats pass by periodically. The Hosts Roger and Khun Sao really made you feel truly welcome and at home. They even helped make a restaurant booking in a nearby restaurant, drove me there and picked me up when I was ready to go back. Breakfast the next morning was very hearty and different food kept being placed on the table including some of Roger’s home made sweet rolls filled with Crème Anglais! Delicious and all that served with a lovely cup of local Thai coffee! Both Roger and Khun Sao were absolutely the finest hosts and the place was designed and built by Roger himself! Very functional and close to nature! Didn’t try the pool as I arrived late afternoon and left early morning. Oh and there were no mosquitos in the room which was a bonus! Would recommend to any traveler who does not need the frills of a luxury 5 star hotel and is happy being in the midst of the local community with fine hosts that engage with their guests so well! Thank you Khun Sao and Roger! Will be back on my next ride through southern Thailand!

We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful and peaceful place. The rooms were very nice and the view on the river was great. We could also rent a kajak and paddle along the river during sunset. Sao and Roger were both really friendly, welcoming and helpful. They also gave us a lot of great tips for really nice places to visit on the way to our next stop.

Really unique location by the river and mangroves. Just a short ride out of Surathani. The room was large and comfortable in rustic style with good A/C. The owners were incredibly welcoming and helpful and gave us a taxi ride to town with instructions for tuk tuk to get us back in evening . The breakfast was freshly prepared and tasty.

Excellent guesthouse with fantastic hosts. We were picked up from the airport and driven to the beautiful Bangsrai Cottage which is on the river surrounded by luscious vegetation. It was calm and peaceful and the room was perfect with a big bed, aircon, fridge and big tv. In the morning we had a swim in the pool surrounded by fruit trees. The breakfast was made freshly by the kind and friendly hosts who were so welcoming and helpful. The hosts were also able to make us a vegan option for breakfast which was really thoughful. We only stayed one night sadly because we had to head to the islands but we would certainly recommend this place to anyone looking for some peace and tranquility. Hopefully we will be back here one day :)

I was so pleasantly surprised with my short stay here - the property hosts were so lovely & welcoming, and the place itself in beautiful. Nestled in nature by the river, with a peaceful room to rest & restore - it was exactly what I needed after being in Bangkok.
